I have to tell you... I know very little about car maitenance. I do know how back and knuckle breaking it can be from watching my step-dad. But, damn, I love reading your posts about getting 'Zilla into shape.
Yeah, he's a bit torn apart at the moment, but he'll be back running soon. It's actually kind of shocking what you can get away with driving in the States when the car is more than 25.
I mean, we drive it from Seattle to Dallas over four days, with no license plates, and we never got pulled over. Big Black Ghost. :)
you're lucky you even got those plugs out! holy shit those are bad! we took some out of my dad's van when he first got it and one of them BROKE OFF IN THE BLOCK
as far as fuel lines go, that SUCKS, but when I redid my car (from pump to tank) we used transmission hose, it's a little harder, only thing is if you ever have to take it off you pretty much need to cut it
Yeah, I know what you mean. The hoses that were on there weren't rated for fuel and the hose that cracked was right next to the fuel pump and the heat of the engine. It was bound to happen - glad it was later rather than sooner. The right stuff is pah-ritty high on the list. LOL
The only good thing I can say about those plugs, other than they were all still working and I don't know how, was that whoever put them in had treated the threads, so they came out very easily with a spark plug socket. It's just been a while since Zilla's had a good once-over for normal stuff like that. I added new wires to the list, too. They're not cracked or anything, but they're dry, and it wouldn't hurt the wallet too much to just get some new ones.
