It's kind of inherited. One girl in all the world chosen to fight the demons and blah blah.. It's another one of those fate things. Haven't heard of it?

There is nothing like that in my world, but the concept of a chosen hero is not unfamiliar to me at all.

Rarely have I known such a hero to be a girl.

That sounds pretty boring. Girl power is where it's at! I did not just say that. No, it's rare in my world too. Or was, until about a month ago.. Long story.

Where I come from? Titles like the ones you listed up there don't usually point to good and wholesome. And you're a Warden. What's the deal, Kinslayer?

Such titles are no fine thing in my world, no more than in yours. I have committed many wrongs for which I suffer to this day, and I have the blood of my own betrothed on my hands, among others. But I continue to attempt to atone for those wrongs, and in so doing have made my bargain with the Admiral.

It does. My death and that of uncounted others, as our world is destroyed to make way for a new one. Still, there is no need to mourn; the era for which ours is mere preparation is, if I am not mistaken, your own, and that of many others aboard this vessel.

There are those in my native land who would call me a demon, but though my people have been long allied with them, I am not. Except in a handful of respects, many merely superficial, I am not that dissimilar from humans. And I think few demons would accept me as an ally now.

I should be most interested. Perhaps this is a conversation better continued in person?
