I heard about Frings this morning and have been in denial since. How ridiculous. Ugh. :(
What part of NC are you heading to? I'll have to think about book recommendations tomorrow (when I have more time--hopefully!). I might know of a few that you'd like.
I'm fairly certain that my sister will kill me if I once again say "Torsten can't play!" in front of her.
We'll be in Chapel Hill. Books recommendations would be absolutely wonderful. I haven't been reading a whole lot lately because I've been busy with those pesky football games. I am understandably not willing to sacrifice the games just to expand my mind with literature, though. :)
What exactly will you be doing in the Southern Part of Heaven (which, I may add, is not at all far from me)?
Based on the YA-heaviness of your list (I heart YA), I'd recommend Catalyst, which is sort of a companion novel to Speak, set a year later at the same school. Also, check out Jaclyn Moriarty. Feeling Sorry for Celia and The Year of Secret Assignments are also companion novels, and much fun.
I miss having bookshelves at which I could glance for recs. Oh, well.
We will be staying with my cousins (they're actually my second or third cousins several times removed but it's easier to just refer to them as cousins) and engaging in what has become our traditional repertoire of activities: going to Mama Dip's, eating a lot of take-and-bake bread, bowling, visiting an ever-changing list of used bookstores, and other things that I can't even remember because it's so obvious that we will do them. My cousins are extremely sensitive to change and getting their own way and by the end of the trip we will be grateful to be heading home because the alternative would be killing one of them. Despite all of this, I am looking forward to the trip because a) it's nearly a week of being in a different location, and b) Mama Dip's fried chicken and gravy makes up for anything.
Thanks for the book recs. As luck would have it my library has all of the suggestions so I have easy access to them.
