[frown] But... your stuff is good. Like, empirically. I mean, I've caught errors, but they were minor, and everyone makes them. Your dialogue is natural, your characterization careful, your premises sound... no, no, I just can't believe it.

Well I'm happy you think so, but there are people who don't, and I can accept that. I was just thinking about a lot of the drama regarding _sushi lately. Some of the authors have caught wind of their fics being posted there, and countered with the traditional, 'Oh yeah?! Well, you suck, too!'

I'm willing to give them the benefit of doubt, and agree that mine may be no better than theirs.

Well, that is an appropriate response.

They should be flattered - it's attention from authors with skills, after all. :)

I <3 Bimbos. The sequel wasn't nearly as good.I was never as in to the SF fandom as some of my buddies but I'd been to my share of cons when I first read it.

McCrumb's Elizabeth MacPherson mysteries are much better than the Zombies of the Gene Pool sequel to Bimbos. Still, she must have attended a few cons in order to get the background for that book.

::Adds book to library list::

I hide behind every comment I ever made in writing. I just hope nobody actually reads and understands them.

You needn't worry.

I only hide behind one event, and I'm tempted to 'out' myself on that as well. I'll probably wait until the momemt seems right, though.

And I understand you - is that scary, or what?

Scary. I have the comfort of knowing that many have no idea what I'm yammering about.

*hops up and down in glee* A Lavender post. :)

It is great fun! But I'm usually happy to hear the condensed version of the above as well. I get too excited about it and want to read all and there goes my free time.

A woman your age shouldn't be hopping, it's bad for the knees.

But yeah, I wanna read all about it, too. It's probably a good thing I don't have time.
