Guh. I'm totally blown away. You really did an amazing job.

You definitely nailed Ari, Eric and Vince all of them. And the conversation/fighting between Ari and Eric was beautifully done. Also I gotta tell you, I loved that little anecdote about Eric and Vince's teens.

Actually, I always thought that Vince is the one who truly understand the essence of their relationship and Eric is the one who is consistently trying to deny it. So, this fic made my secret fantasy come true. I'm thrilled to finally find the writer who shares the exact idea with me in this fandom.

I can never quite decide just how self-aware Vince is. There's more going on there than people think. I think maybe Eric knows that too, and that's why he's so quick to deny that there's anything special about it. Plus Vince would (probably, sadly) not make the best of boyfriends for a serial monogamist like E. Though who knows? Again, it depends on my mood what I think about it!

(Oh, and I'm glad you liked the bit about them as teenagers. I was dithering over whether or not to leave it in)

So I haven't watched the season finale because I couldn't bear to watch Vince fire E, even though I think it was inevitable that it happen at some point. This fic was so right to me, though, because I am clear as a fucking bell that E broke up with Vince and then Vince spent the whole season trying to make up with him and not ... doing it right. It seems totally right to me that he'd fuck it all up again after having a hissy fit and firing E.

But also? I love Ari in this. I love that he gets Vince, because he is totally right, Vince can't fight his own battles, E's been doing that for him too long for Vince to ever have learned how. And I love that he has to go home and convince Mrs. Ari that he's not having an affair with E, because, well, dude, everyone should be in love with E if you ask me.

(Wow, I totally missed replying to this...)

The firing scene is awful to watch, but I think I would have dealt better if Eric had made him work a bit harder to get him back. (Bitter, me, never...) Their relationship was so odd over this season, it feels like there had to be something else going on. I kind of want Eric to become uber-successful and make Vince do a little begging instead. Does that make me a bad person?

But anyway, I'm realy glad you liked the fic, and Ari in it. He's becoming my favourite for a shot of perspective. And yes, everyone should be in love with E. One day I will probably write a fic to that effect. Assuming it isn't the subtext in all my fics ;)
