I do love Edinburgh, though there are ways it makes me sad. Or, makes me wish I had more of a life-plan than this. It reminds me of Oxford too much in places.

And it was nice to babble to someone about why Superman (and straight-up hero types) are more interesting than they're given credit for.
*g* I fail as that friend, don't I? It's just that darkness is so compelling ... However, you always need the straight-up guy to balance the dark guy. Which is why it puzzles me that Superman/Batman doesn't appeal to me, or not at the moment. I need educating, please, Miss ... ;)

It is, of course. But I love Superman too, and Cyclops in X-Men. The dark characters sometimes are just too much, like you could drown in it. I like the contrast - the guys who have to square all the things they won't do, with the reality they live in. The ones that have to lead, have to be an example, can't afford to just do what they want. Is why I love Justice League - all the pretty themes all at once. With bonus Superman/Batman, or Batman/Flash :)
