Kane at Tractor Tavern in Seattle
This was the second time I saw Kane. The first was in Portland a couple years ago at Dante's. That concert differed in many ways. There were no other bands playing and it was Christian's home territory. It was also a sleazier location.

I have achieved cats!
Gwyn accompanied me this past Sunday to Purrfect Pals, a no-kill cat shelter outside of town. I'd arranged to pick up a bonded pair of 7 year old boy kitties, originally rescued from Katrina. Unfortunately, they'd had two homes since their hurricane rescue, and two returns to shelters, for no reason (grr). It was incredibly hard to stop at 2 cats, ( Read more... ) -

I never, ever thought I'd come close to thinking that a spider looks cute, but there's an amazing macro (extreme close up) photographer who has come close. He also shoots all sorts of bugs - he has one fly with the most amazing striped eyes ( Read more... ) -
