25 days until OSCAR...

I think i've made an honourable leap forward in the number of films i've seen since the nominations were announced last week, but i'm a bit concerned about that lengthy list of films that can't be found anywhere. I guess time will tell...

So, from this year's list of 44 nominated films, i've now seen 19:

I was actually in Toronto for a few days earlier this month -- i thought about trying to meet you, but i really didn't have a lot of time to see many people at all. I hope that one day we will have the opportunity!

Strange thing about Lars, that aside from Victoria, it only seems to be playing in Ontario.

If i recall, you're a big fan of Across The Universe too, right? I saw that on the plane on the way back from Onterrible, and i loved it! And along the same vein -- musical-wise, that is -- if you haven't seen Sweeney Todd yet, you should -- really awesome!

Actually, that's not entirely true -- i was in Ontario for a few days, but really only in Toronto long enough to have some dinner with some family and close friends.

Really? I haven't seen it yet ... but i think it's rated PG or something -- can a movie only one step away from a G-rating really be the best movie ever made?

And yes, i have missed the ol' LJ -- and you, in particular, Katie! -- but i'm afraid i'll be gone again soon. I just don't seem to have the time to write for that "G" audience anymore. The truth is that i -- just like you -- found someone special ... and i tend to simply write what's on my mind in letter-form and send it all to her. (You see, she lives in Ontario, while i live in British Columbia.) Hmmm ... maybe i'll come back to LJ, at least to read and to comment -- i bet it would take me a month to get caught up on everything you've written since i've been away!

I was amazed to find out later that it's rated PG. The music alone should make it R.

You could always scan those letters and post them here, you know. Just a thought . . .

No scanning necessary -- it's not like they're handwritten letters! (Who still does that?) And ... ummm ... wouldn't that somehow cheapen them, if i copied and pasted things i wrote to her and made them for public consumption?
