I think i've made an honourable leap forward in the number of films i've seen since the nominations were announced last week, but i'm a bit concerned about that lengthy list of films that can't be found anywhere. I guess time will tell...

Of all the films i've seen this past week, i have to highly recommend Juno and The Kite Runner. They are both strong 9s (out of 10). Juno will grab you from the minute the opening titles begin -- they're so "indie" and endearing -- and the entire film is clever and wonderful. And The Kite Runner might take a little while to reach you, but once it does, it never lets go -- you will care deeply about every character in the film, even a couple who you might have disliked at first. I would also give strong 8s to Atonement and 3:10 To Yuma, with a special mention of the latter for being the first film i watched on my new TV!
