Since it seems like the only legitimate thing to do with my life at this point is to become a crazy cat lady, I have acquired two crazy cats. One of my actually decent students (she’s thirty and therefore places a bit more value on her education than the kids who never particularly liked school in the first pace but just don’t know what else to do

Aww those two are adorable. Naruse looks a little like one of my cats at home. Just mine is even more mixed. She looks a little like a hyena XD
I kinda wish I could have cats at my place now, too, to keep me company when I come home from work but I wouldn't want more than one and I'd feel bad for always leaving it alone for half the day.
lol their paws look kinda freaky with all those toes. I've never heard of cats like that before.

I am very glad Naru turned out to be a tortoiseshell instead of just black -- my last cat (many years ago) was a grey tortoiseshell, so pretty!

I'm hoping that the cats will be good company -- at the very least, they've been encouraging me to getup earlier when I wake up and remember there are starving kittens downstairs. I am otherwise quite able to doze all day, which is a bad idea all around. Since I'm not actually on vacation, even if my days are not scheduled, after all. I really only want one cat for myself too, but since I am never around, the second cat is for the first cat. All of which will probably make it more difficult for me to move house if I get the chance

Hee! They were going to be Sanzo and Hakkai (for some reason, I've been hankering for an orange tabby to name Sanzo), but they play a little too rough. And kittens are just too frisky for that pair. So instead I'll let them enact a semi-epic battle of (mostly) good and (misunderstood) evil in my house.

I am only bespectacled half the time -- I had given up on contacts that day, I guess. You can tell how amazing my prescription is from the distortion of my face through the lens. And I think I probably only look cool because there is a kitten on my head there.

I'm not great, really, but I will keep trying to get out of here.

Guess I had better get dresseed and ready, call Geico to let them know that Germania appears to be handling it, and then get to reading. I'm trying to inaugurate actual usefulness today. I imagine my kitties will only be cute while they are young -- yours, on the other hand, will be eternally cute. I wonder if they will grow into their mutant paws like puppies, or it the paws will also keep getting bigger

They're freaks! Naru is a little less freaky, since her extra toes are on her back feet and less noticeable -- on the front, she just has an extra joint in a regular toe, so she looks like she has a mitten foot, but there's not actually an extra digit like her freak brother.

But meanwhile, they are pretty darned cute!

Hey, I haven't lived in a cat-friendly establishment for a while! Technically my lease here says no pets, but the landlord said it would be okay. I am now trying to remember whether I said 'kittens' in the plural when I asked... I am also kind of afraid to have him in to look at the leaky toilet, since people who don't like cats are always convinced that they are smelly animals. All pets make a smell in your house, whether it's their food or their cedar chips or whatever. I think these too are just bringing in the food smell, except right after they've been in the litter box. But still a bit wary.
