Dear Eve had given me her home-made orange pound cake twice and each time, the girls and Seong raved about it. They love the aroma from this cake and just warming the cake in the oven makes the kitchen smells like heaven. I got Eve to pass me her secret recipe and tried making it myself today.

There's an abundance of seafood in Hong Kong and they are so fresh. Usually the prawns from the market will still be jumping about after I brought them home. 今天是正月初七，我突然心血来潮，一大清早便上巴刹，买了好多食物，大包小包地。想到明天是家翁的生日，而今年的新年他还没吃到他一向喜爱的火锅，所以决定好好准备一顿丰盛的火锅晚餐。回到家，我就开始洗洗切切。每到新年吃火锅时，我总会回想起刚结婚在婆家吃年夜饭的一次经历。记得当时年夜饭是家婆准备的，一个人要煮给她四个儿子和其家人（算一算都将近十五个人）。家婆的年夜饭，除了火锅之外，也少不了一些客家菜、鱼啊、虾啊等。由于我在银行工作，没什么时间能帮她，就建议肉由我买。当时天真的我就真的等到年三十下班后，晃到超级市场买几包已切好的猪肉牛肉交差。回到婆家，见家婆在厨房忙得团团转，我也不以为然，潇洒地把刚买的肉递给她。家婆看到晚餐时间已到， 但那些肉却还是冰冻的，又急又气。说实话，她也没骂我， ( Read more... )

My first attempt making marble cake.  I actually followed the recipe from this blog - Joy of Baking because I am using melted chocolate.  Again, chocolate is from my sweet sister-in-law who gave to the girls for Easter.  Its a really cute Easter Bunny, my sister-in-law gave each girl one and I used one of them for my cake today.
