[[Accidental Voice Post]]

[Moro's voice clicks over the journals, in what is obviously an unintentional post. Moro seems to be in the middle of musing to herself, even.]

...no matter how many times we take their lives, they take more and more.

The forests can't handle this... a single demon can be met by my fangs, but these humans are a greater plague than nature can ( Read more... )

[has probably been sitting nearby listening to this. She had a more threatening approach earlier, though]

...

[Moro is well aware of San listening in on her.]

...This forest... this tiny, weak forest... even it can cry out to me...

[it's not eavesdropping. It's sort of just how they are?]

...What does it say?

[hey Moro. Smell your daughter's blood on her fur?]

[She smells it. But you're alive, so Moro isn't setting priorities and letting life deal with itself.]

It's like the babbling of a child... the cries of woe, of fear...

Like a weak, starved child whimpering.

[Although he doesn't often write in the journals, Ryoji does like seeing what other people post. And most of the time it's great! But then there a posts like these.

"They don't deserve the life they have. So few fight for their duty. So few live with purpose."

It's... sad, hearing that there are those out there that think that. What's even sadder is how true that is back home.

Ryoji doesn't mean to reply (in fact, he's already turning the page to a different entry) but it looks like the journal's voice option is going to catch his sigh.

Whoops.]

[Moro stills, not expecting the journals to have caught her.

...Though, it had happened before, and her heart had not raced in surprise...]

...Hmm.

[Ryoji doesn't realize the journal caught him yet. But, damnit, what Moro posted is really sticking in his mind; enough that he's going to go back to listen to it again, with a troubled expression on his face.

... but this time, what sticks out at him is the poster's voice; it's very pretty.]

[Moro is unsure what this strange, foreign feeling is. It's similar to the maternal instincts she felt, the love she felt at her core when she chose to save San. But this... no, it's still very different.]

...Hmm.

[Luffy is in a nearby tree. He listened to what she said and this is usually the point where he'd defend humanity. Say how awesome they all are. But not this time. After everything that's been happening lately, he can't bring it upon himself to say anything. There are bad people here, some that aren't demons.

Can he really tell her to trust people when some just aren't worth trusting? Can he really say to her that some people are nice once you get to know 'em when he's not even sure about Alexei? It wouldn't matter what he told her anyway. She's bull-headed herself. Nothing he can say could change her mind about any of this. But he also doesn't want to end up fighting her if she decides to attack people. She's his friend, or atleast in his mind she is. So for now, he'll just sit down on the branch he was standing on, and think.]

[...Moro knows you're there.]

...Boy.

...Can you hear the forest?

[Slowly, he's just going to shake his head. He can't hear anything honestly. But from hanging around with Moro so much, he's not really NOT familiar with the term.]

What's it saying? Is it mad?

[He's more or less exploring and familiarizing himself with the area when he hears the voice from the partly open journal. The words aren't very pretty. He listens intently as he walks, when he could swear that it's echoing. Then it clicks; of course, the speaker must be nearby. He must be closer than he thinks. He looks up and, sure enough, there's the . . . person.

A giant, white wolf? He blurts out the first figure that comes to his mind at that.]

[She bristles, growling darkly.]

Moro. Guardian god of the forest.

[She'll kill someone someday over how many times she's had to state that. Why can't they all just know and fear her like they did back home :'(]

[O-oh, snap, he should have controlled his tongue.]

Or not. Sorry, uh, Guardian Moro! Should I call you that? Or would you prefer Guardian God, or God? Ah, I'm no good with this.

. . . I mistook you for the wolf queen back home. Sorry, again.

[Toph was wandering up to go see Moro anyway, but hearing her over the journals makes her pause before going ahead, a little more slowly. The wolf god has never chased her out of the forest before, despite her hatred for humans, and San did say that humans- at least one of them, had tried to burn down the forest.] ...I get that. It feels like there's way too much to protect, and not enough people who'll help, and too many people who'll try to destroy things and make trouble.

...It will only end in a victory for the humans.

[Action] earthrumblegod February 22 2010, 07:28:08 UTC
But it shouldn't! Can't the good side win? [After all, the Gaang did it before, and they were going after an enormous nation of firebenders. Meanwhile, she's compartmentalizing 'human' to mean 'those assholes who burn down the forest, not GOOD humans'.]

The strong win, and the world reshapes to them. Things die, and the life that grows in place change the way the world works.
