So I walked my kids to their first day of school today. The secretary told me when I enrolled then that they get out at 2:20 every Wednesday, which I thought was weird, but oh well. Today we dropped Emma off, then walked over to Serra's classroom. Her teacher and I were talking about Emma being in 3rd grade etc etc, and she said 'So how is that

School secretaries are the lowest form of administration life in existence, sez me. I'd talk to the principal or even superintendant, if I were you. They might could hammer something out for you. Maybe Emma can cool her heels in the school library doing her homework until Serra's day is done?

That's what the secretary can do. Bite me. There is NO reason why Emma can't wait for Serra in the library or with another teacher. I bet that there is something in place, somewhere in that school, for kids in that situation. If there isn't, go to the principal and demand that he set something up. There is always the front office, or the counseling center where people have to be until 3pm because they are paid to be there. Why couldn't she sit in there and wait for her sister? I really, really dislike people like her. Too damn lazy to do their jobs right, and too busy telling themselves how important they are to be of any use anyway.

Apparently, 'if we let one kid do it we have to let all the kids do it', and then they might as well dismiss them all at the same time. WELL FUCKING DUH.

I spoke with my child care provider and she can accomodate both pickup times, thank Bob.

Wow. Yeah, that is awesome that your daycare provider can do both, and that school is crappy. That is the most ridiculous thing I have ever heard. But, at least the girls will be taken care of :)
