I just got off the phone with Sue, who owns 3 houses in Red Bluff. I talked to her for a good 20 minutes. She's in the Master's Program at Davis for social work services, and was delighted that I'm going to work for social services there. The house we spoke about is a 4 bedroom, for $895 per month. The 4th bedroom is small, doesn't have a closet,

I'm glad you found another place. The housing market up there sucks ass. It is ridiculous. My mother still lives in Redding and her house is a real piecer, but she could sell it for ove 200k if she wanted it. It's that ridiculous to get a place up there. The surrounding areas aren't any better either. Renting is really the only way to go, but those are harder than hell to find to. You really lucked out! I am so happy for you. And, the inter-district transfer shouldn't be a big deal as long as you can justify it-ilke they have a better program for Serra (sorry if I spelled her name wrong) or their schools are closer to your work, etc. It's all about how you fill out the forms.
