I think I'd rather have more than I could ever see. That way I know that I'll never run out before it's my time. And even if I don't see it, someone else will.

Maybe. I still don't know how much time I'll have when I go back, but...I'm hopeful.

[his smile falters.] They...they're parts of those lights in the darkness. Some companions stay with me for years and years, but most don't last so long. Sure, we'll have our laughs and narrow escapes, but something always comes up and I'll have to say good-bye.

I did. She was a fellow Time Lord, but she left. Then she eventually went home. But she's gone now too.
