[night has fallen once again on Eos, and one man who has spent far too much time listening to voices in the dark depths of the forest has finally emerged from the tree-line. amazingly, he looks slightly more put together than he has in past days. his tie is straight, tightened snugly in place, and his shirt tails are tucked neatly into his suit ( Read more... )

Interrogation is fine too, not that her answers will make sense fallen_cetra February 28 2009, 01:08:02 UTC
Knock knock, who's there? Nobody home.

Little lost children in the cold cold labs, little bloody pieces on the cold, cold slabs. Took what we were, tried to make more, wouldn't let us out until we'd done what he wanted. Never did, wouldn't let him. There was sunlight once, in the church...flowers...lilies everywhere. I... names, lost in the roaring silence left by the screams in the night and it...so long ago... He called me an angel, but that wasn't right...

Aerith.

[he's sure there's a thread of a story in all of that, but now he's sure of the differences between him and her. she can say her name--and he can't. there's only one time he can, and that time certainly isn't now.]

Aerith. Pretty name for someone who walks in the void.

Wasn't always like this, there was sunlight once. Long time ago...

No...I'm sure it wasn't.

But just because the light went out doesn't mean it won't be back. The universe is cyclical like that!

What has been done cannot be undone, what has been stolen cannot be given back.

Some things can--but where life and death are concerned, it can't.

Broken, all broken, haven't been the same since the Harbinger summoned the Calamity. Everything went wrong, then. The Planet the screams were everywhere, couldn't hear anything else terror, fear, pain, fire and ash. The plate fell, it was an accident...

Which planet was this? Are you from one of the--no...you can't be from one of the planets that got caught in the cross-fire...

[he listens to something else for a moment, his eyes glancing between them and not the image of the young woman in the sphere.] Could be...perhaps a human population did end up in the battlegrounds.

Gaia. They named it Gaia.

[he's mumbles under his breath and after a moment of doing so, he looks up again] There's a few planets whose people liked to call their world Gaia--how arrogant of them to think they were the only Gaia!--but none of them are gone, no, not to my knowledge. Not in my universe.

Are we still in the universe I know? Those stars are unfamiliar to me...

The children cannot help that they were bound to their world. Never knew the stars in the sky for anything besides what they were. Never grew their wings to leave the ground. Didn't wish to, liked it where they were. It was home.

And that was your world? Your Gaia?

Then who or what was this harbinger? The calamity?

Sephiroth, made by that man. Twisted, broken, tried to make a Cetra without knowing what they truly were. Used the false Cetra, what they called JENOVA, the Calamity from the Skies. Born in the labs, little bloody pieces on the cold cold slabs. Made him what he was, broke his mind with falsehoods, Sephiroth was lost to the dark madness and arose the Harbinger, summoned Meteor and finished what that man had started; resurrecting JENOVA.

Have to get back, have to find the sacred Word. The Calamity must be stopped before the Promised Land is destroyed.

Sounds like quite the mess to me.

But the calamity is...still going on? Sounds like it's taking its time to be done and over with--or to be stopped. Preferably stopped. I know I'd like it that way.

Meteor is coming, JENOVA lies in wait. Wound the Planet, then bleed it dry. How it has always done it.

No one left to pray for salvation. All gone. Stolen. I am the last. Have to find the sacred word...
