your shit is wearing a hat. gotta love the french keyboards :P

I was having a conversation with a co-worker about your style of government. Your sentence, "France is a very giving fatherly government and its citizens are just stuck-up whiney spoiled children" essentially explains itself. If you had a father that gave you everything you needed and pretty much anything you wanted, why would you ever grow up? It'd just be silly. From the child-like view, you would lose more than you gained.

As for the arguing thing... I don't see how they don't suffer from horrible psychological issues if they keep all that shit inside. Maybe they are really good at rationalizing and resolving with the unconscious mind? Let the problem solve itself on the back burner? Although that seems incredibly dangerous.

well essentially, we're all spoiled children relying on the government in some way, right? just a different style of parenting. america's that teen parent trying to be controlling and dominating without really knowing what's going on with the world.

no, french people don't hold it all inside, they yell at each other and debate and nothing gets resolved. they attack, defend, then drop it. like, wtf.

the arguing bit is so true. i think that's another reason why i often had trouble getting to know frenchies since i'm not so resolute in my convictions and i enjoy a lot of gray area.

bof.

yeah, I have trouble with that, too. and not only the arguing bit but the fact that relationship models take a whole different form that I'm not sure how strong the bonds I'm forming are. small gestures are taken personally yet turbulent fights can be shrugged off. *makes lippy fart sound*
