House 3.18, or, Plague on a Plane

Apr 10, 2007 22:28

More evidence that bad previews make for good episodes. Although in this case, it was more a lowering-of-expectations deal. Like House always talks about. When you expect nothing and you get a very little bit, you're happy.

Five things about tonight’s episode. )

Did he know what she was, and if so, is he that lonely? Did he just think she was pretty and was moved when she cared for someone she’d just met?

That's exactly what I was asking myself after watching the episode. I'll have to watch it again, I think, before making a decision.

Is he giving up on House and moving on?

No. He'll never give up. He'll just keep distracting himself with whatever's available until either (a) he sees the light about his feelings for House or (b) House sees the light about his feelings for Wilson or (c) both of the above.

And perhaps, if Wilson does know she's a prostitute, he's thinking about House having done it before, and is therefore feeling closer to him by hiring/dating/having sex with her. Or, you know, while having sex with her. Mm.

I like your interpretation!

(Is he giving up on House and moving on?)
Is it bad that I kind of want him to? *ducks* Though it's a snowball's chance in hell that TBTB would ever go there, I don't think I'd want Wilson in a relationship with House, if House was as abusive as he's been all season.
I'm all for Robin/Wilson/House. Any takers?

You know House knows Robin already, and when he finds out Wilson's seeing her, bad (or possibly very, very good) things will happen. :)

I thought Wilson figured Robin's real profession out when she admitted that she'd just met Fran that day, and he said she should go--it's not her job to stay. Because he was giving her looks like, "There's no way these two are friends."

That was the big moment where it looked like he was putting two and two together, yeah. But it wasn't entirely clear whether he got "call girl" for an answer or just figured the friends thing was a lie and didn't get further than that. Since we've seen on many an occasion that his deducing skillz are not top-notch. Although she did mention "clients."

This is going to sound batshit, but I swear to God I cannot make shit like this up.

I have a friend who is a lawyer but, like ... moonlights as a dominatrix or ... whatever. It's complicated. ANYWAY. My point is, she talks about "clients" all the time. But nobody can tell which job she's talking about unless she actually specifies. (And sometimes she doesn't just because it's more amusing to her that way. XD) So it's totally plausible for our selectively-blind-and/or-naive boy to not know or even think maybe she's a call girl.

Hee. I love how ambiguous they left it. I'm still leaning towards "Wilson doesn't know," and am curious whether they'll end up seeing each other or whether she'll break the news to him or whether House will break the news to him or ... whether we'll never hear about this again.

Also, I love that Wilson's seeing someone so young. I mean, not only because it's true to character, definitely, but because, y'know, self-insertion fantasies. *g*

we finally have confirmation that normally he’s called James, or at least introduces himself to non-patients as such.

I caught that too and felt excited about it!

And just generally felt very excited about this episode in general. It was just chock full of goodness!

I really want to think and talk more about Wilson and the prostitute, but I have to work at an obscene hour tomorrow, and so I must to bed.

Which is where I was when you sent this comment. Well, not in the same bed. You know.

Quite enjoyed your post! Yay for lots of Wilson and hearing him say his own name again! (Did you also find it amusing in "Lines in the Sand" when he was all, 'That's funny -- it says James Wilson on the door...'?)

I really don't think Wilson knows what she does. 1) because there wasn't any truly valid reason for him to make a leap like that -- she never said anything remotely implying it, and having 'just met' could mean almost anything. The woman could have been a realtor, an avon saleswoman, anything.

and, 2) the upcoming episodes will be a lot more annoying dramatic if he doesn't know yet.

I've seen persuasive arguments for both sides, and am content to believe both for now. Leaves more room for ficcy possibilities.

Am totally dead tonight -- wanna do something tomorrow? Friday? Saturday?
