Today, we bought a house. Yes, you did read that correctly. We took the money from the flood portion of the insurance and instead of spending it to fix the flooded portion of the house in New Orleans; we bought a house in New England. We closed on it this afternoon ( Read more... )

That's such a strange idea. I'm not sure I'm ready to call it home yet. I guess I don't feel settled anywhere. Maybe in a few months it'll feel more like home. I guess our Grandmother was right when she told us, "Never unpack all your bags."

Like I said, I'm not sure it's home yet. Actually, there are more complications even with this place. The woman who owned the house is still on the upper floors until mid-July, so it's very weird to own it and live in it, but only on the first floor.

Hmm. That is pretty weird. You guys have such interesting experiences.

Oh, and I tried the salt on the tongue thing, and I think it helped. (I did the ginger thing at about the same time, though, so it wasn't a good trial of the technique. I'll probably feel nauseated again, at some point, and I'll give it a go.)
