That's what I feel too.

While alum and iron are ok to pour down the drain here once the mordant bath is finished I'm careful with them too, although I don't wear a mask when I handle alum since it's already finely grinded and I don't have to mess with it. The iron I have to grind so them the mask will come on. Since alum is used in deodorants to make you stop sweating it certainly is something the body will react to, so it feels sensible to be careful with that too.
I'm yet to use pewter and I'm not touching any chrome.

I would wear a mask with finely ground aluminium too - you could breathe in tiny particles, and it is one of the few materials implicated in Alzheimer's Disease. :(

Oh, I have been so bad in the past, no glowes, no mask and straight into the drain with bout iron and copper sulphate... Hmm, I will try to be better in the future!
