The we'll be friends again line was cute, but my favorite was this exchange:

Horrified at the sight of himself withering away, Lex began taking side steps toward the exit without being truly aware of it. "I don't understand this. Why would I want to live for centuries? It's not natural!"

Kal watched him without blinking and it was only as his head was turning gradually, following him, that Lex realized he'd been moving, and stopped. "Because," he said softly, "I asked you to."

Oh yeah, they both got it bad.

I really want to read the end of the manual transmission series, but this is not a bad way to spend time while I wait. Thanks for posting.

Hey I am so glad you updated. I really enjoy your writing style. I went over and read your The Happenings Series and loved every last word of it. This piece is very good too. I am worried that current Lex wasn't going to go, then Kal played the you get to play with advanced technology card :) Loved that :)

Can't wait for your next update.
