Hi, I'm Christina from Portugal, 20 years old and studying Biochemistry in university. I was recently (this August) diagnosed with bipolar disorder, after years of depression, taking Lexapro and floating through my first two years of college (which I now recognize as being a manic episode). My psychiatrist initially put me on 50mg of Zoloft and 2mg ( Read more... )

I have not had any experience with those but I find the best people to call for interactions is the pharmacy. They know more than the doctors. Good luck.

Is there a problem with condom use? I mean, I dunno, I'm SUPER paranoid about babies, I"m pro choice, and would have an abortion if it came down to it, but I totally don't want to ever be in that position. I use bc pills and I use condoms.

Maybe you should try a different drug then? HOnestly most docs I've run across don't use topamax because the studies on it's effectiveness for bipolar were pretty inconcusive.

Condoms don't really fit well on the bf, and well, I think even to me it feels different, but if we have to, we have to.

I read that too, on Wikipedia even, so I'm a bit indecisive. Oh well, I'll give it a go, seeing as I suffer from migraines as well. I'm pretty sure the doc prescribed it only temporarily.

You can get them in sizes, FYI. Smaller than average or larger than average. But I understand about not liking them.

Ever thought about an IUD?

The max we get here in Portugal is 57mm and even that is unconfortable.

why don't the condoms fit if you don't mind me asking? Just wondering cuz I have had this problem and fixed it, and a friend had a similar but opposite problem as well.

My bf uses trojan magnums cuz he was too big for the regular ones, they kind of made him look like a sausage with too much meat crammed in the packing. looked very uncomfortable. (that was gross to say now that I read it over. lol.) and he also pretty much could NOT come with them cuz of the tightness.

My friend, hers kept coming off her man. But they make those I think lifestyle 'snug fit' ones as well for guys who are smaller girth wise.

You can order them both online if there are any embarassment issues. :P

The largest we find here in Portugal are 57mm and even those make him look like the sausage you described, haha.

oh also, as far as how they feel, I've honestly never had sex without one, and my (male) friend who has, whenI told him we were now using the magnum ecstasy ones, and *I* notice a HUGE difference, feels amazing, ha. also, when I told my one male friend he said, "oh I've used those, they are the closest I've ever had to nothing, they are better than the super thins."

they have a flare at the top and are tight at the base, so there is friction or something? I dunno, they are pretty great! they make them in regular sizes too.

Don't feel bad. When I was on the NuvaRing I prayed so hard that it was working. Went back on the pill. I always ask and Google how a med will react with my bc. Also, antibiotics can make it less effective... You can also tell your gyno what you take and he/she can give you that info as well.

But were you taking Topamax with the Nuvaring or pill? Idk, some of my research says yes, there won't be any problem, some of my research tells me to put on a condom.
