i am getting really pissed off.

i went on medical disability leave from work in September, and since i have gotten about 80% back to my "normal" self, i contacted them about coming back to work.... a week before xmas.

i havent heard a word back.  not even a "we're thinking about it" email.

are they trying to lay me off????????

Contact them again? You deserve some sort of answer. You make it sound like you only contacted them once?

Bipolar is automatically disabling? I've never heard that one before...

i have contacted them 3 times, sorry for not making that clear :)

according to Social Security, if you meet the income requirements and go on to the second step (looking at medical history) they consider Bipolar to be disabling automatically.

Bipolar is a condition that is listed as potentially disabling. However, you have to have a significant enough problem with daily life, working, etc before you can be considered disabled.

well, yes. i have had to leave work because of it. i cant handle more than a limited part time schedule. so i am automatically disabled.

i got that info from the SSI lady i spoke to this morning

I live in an at-will state, so I've been fired for several jobs even taking a leave of absence due to mental health. What are the laws in your state about that?

Call them multiple times a day if you have to. Don't be passive about it at all.
