for me SSRI = suicidal mixed states. Every time I've tried over the past 10 years, same result.(Whether they were at really low doses for anxiety or used for the initial severe depression I presented with.)
I was put on Zoloft , then swapped to Proazac , by themselves , I hid things from my boyfriend , hit him , fuck up out whole relationship & was left with nothing , I tried to kill myself twice , and used to go into psychotic episodes.
While on an lexepro I had my first major mixed manic state. It wasn't pretty. Before that, I only had hypo manic states and depression. I'm currently on 3000 mg of depakote, 800 mg of seroquel, and 900 mg of neurontin per day, and that seems to be working well except for some not so fun sides. But, then, I go manic very easily and haven't been able to take hardly anything so far with anti-depressant properties.
Lexapro(Escitalopram) is actually a more potent more selective form of Celexa. Technically speaking it's the S-enantiomer of Celexa. They are pretty similar. And Celexa as generic Citalopram is cheap. As per zoloft. It worked great for me but tended to cause hypomania, yeah that's true.
As long as I stay on a mood stabilizer, I can also have SSRI. However, if I go into hypomania, we reduce the SSRI for a short while but usually have to up it again because I quickly become depressed again. I don't take Lexapro though, Cymbalta and Trazadone along with mood stabilizer, antipsychotic, and stimulant.
