The one where we're reminded the only joy Elly allows herself is bellowing about how no one cares.
Synopsis: After praising herself for other people's accomplishments, Elly brags about how enjoyable it is to feel under the gun all the time.
Summary: All success is due to Elly's being indispensable. All failure is due to no one listening to Elly.

LOL, same here with getting it in my head. There are worse earworms. 😊

I wonder what Moira was thinking about before the thoughts were scattered from her head by Elly bursting in and dominating the room. Like anyone should give a flying damn about Elly's "accomplishments" which are not accomplishments.

She was probably wondering if she was supposed to applaud Elly for something she didn't actually do.

It occurred to me that since the place has a cat in it and the woman does not look anything like Moira, that maybe Elly has just wandered into another bookstore mistaking it for Lilliput's. The woman may be thinking, "Who is this crazy woman and do I need to call the police?"

And all because Lynn will not use a model sheet.

I'd completely missed the cat. How random. There's never been a "bookstore cat" established in this strip. Wonder what got into obviously cat-hating Lynn to include that.

Lynn just completely went off into the weeds. The cat never appears again. This misdrawing of Moira appears to be a one-time thing also. Here is chronological sequence of Moira appearances including this one. The hair style returns and the big lips return.

Egads, that third strip reminds me that the atrocious final form of Elly's hair is not far off.

Her reasoning for that unflattering haircut of making her look like someone her mother would call a whizzled-up old geezer? The belief that the back of her head is flat!!!

Believing her head is flat explains the bun. But the bang-flap style comes from Liz's offhand comment that Elly hasn't changed her hair since the 60s and Elly stopping the hairdresser halfway through his cutting.

Better response to John's "how do you do it?" - "Using Your Money."
Seriously. All Elly did was spend. And John is praising her for it.

There's another thing she wants praise for being: a hoarder:

It had been a while since Lynn had drawn Moira. We can't expect the poor dear to (1) remember what she looks likes or (2) go back to old strips to refresh her memory. Also, Elly hates her kids. We knew that.
As for the strip. Dang, Elly. Don't break the fourth wall at us. I feel violated by the way she looks at Lynn's readers in the final panel.
