Clearly I've been off LJ for rather awhile. We moved. I needed safety and reassurance, so I read a lot of LM Montgomery, specifically Emily of New Moon, Emily Climbs, and Emily's Quest. Yes, same author. I never did read Galileo's Daughter, though I saw a Nova or something about it. The Planets does a good job briefly describing different elements of planet lore - scientific, mythological and astrological, popular culture - and she writes fairly well... I don't know, maybe it's too brief and I need more time to get my imagination going. I don't want to have to stop and think, as if it was poetry, for god's sake! :-)
