Freakiness and then some

A young woman was murdered just two blocks from my apartment on Sunday night. It's been freaking me out ever since I drove past the cop cars, police tape and news vans Monday night. Just two blocks! And to think we were at home, watching tv and surfing the 'net while it was happening. Very upsetting and I can't stop thinking about it

That is really scary about the murder! Stuff like that always freaks me out when it is close to home.

I think you have to feed the flytrap some sort of protein every day. I don't know if it has to be flies. You might use some sort of fish food or little bits of raw hamburger. I know that sounds like the Addams Family, lol, but it can't exist without food.

There is one sort of pitcher plant they've found in Australia that actually eats rats! I wrote about it in the Parseltongue News on HPN because previously I had made a funny picture of Snape's rat-eating skunk cabbage, haha.

You know, I read up online a bit and one site said specifically not to feed it hamburger - that it will rot and end up killing the plant. Ack! It said to feed it a 'nice sized bug' once a month. It doesn't need good soil - but it does need bugs! What have we gotten ourselves in for? ;D

Rats! Oh no - I think I would run screaming from any plant like that . . . too much like the venomous tentacula! ;)

It was scary . . . the police are still there, guarding the site. Too freaky!

A murder so close to home is really creepy! I'm glad that you and husband were home watching TV instead of taking a walk around the neighborhood, although I can understand the weirdness of doing something fun & relaxing while a young woman was being murdered not too far away... Have the authorities released any information on whether it was random?

That's what was so weird - knowing that we were just hanging out as usual when this awful thing was happening so close by!

They haven't released too much info - understandable as it just happened Sunday night - but they are looking for her boyfriend for questioning. She was very young - only 21! So sad.
