I spent parts of both days this weekend walking around Lincoln Park, and of course my first inclination is to gripe. But, my complaints are well justified. One woman was very indigent with me "Well we're not hurting anyone" "Yes but this is the law in Palatine you have to have your dog leashed" "We are NOT hurting anyone" "Ok what's your name?" "... why?" "I'm one of the board members and I will assess a fine to your unit if you do not leash your dogs up immediately" She complied at that point.
Those dogs ran up to me wanting to play while she was proclaiming they weren't hurting anyone. What if I had been afraid of dogs? What if I had a dog on a leash that was very skittish of other dogs and maybe started biting? There's a lot of things that can happen there.
