This completely summed up how I felt at the end of last night's episode, especially your line It's kind of bittersweet. The whole episode felt so bittersweet because neither can really move on because they're each other's standard and they know it. And what's more, they both know deep down that they won't be able to find a higher standard.
It feels like they're existing in some odd purgatory, and you captured Booth's feelings about that really well here. Thanks!

Agreed on both counts!
It's also good on Tuesday for a similar reason (SVU airs in Canada on Tuesday and not till Wednesday in the US). Gotta love it!!!

I guess that would be a better way to put it, huh?
I agree the episode was very bittersweet. But you know, maybe I'm alone in this, but I really felt optimistic at the end.
I mean sure, they're trying to move on and it makes sense and yeah, it hurts a little bit.
But the date after the date?
That basically says to me, that the relationship they have between each other could never be replaced. It'll always come first for them and you can't just change that, you know?
Thanks for reading!

My poor babies are in such a confusing place. I know they need some time to muddle through it and figure it all out, but MAN my heart hurts for them.
I loved your insight here. *Hearts* for writing this.

I don't know if it came across, but that's really what I wanted to do with this one.
I mean, yeah my heart hurt too... but I had so much hope at the end of the episode, you know?
For me, it'll always come back to the fact that even after everything, they are still there... sitting in the bar, being them.
And eventhough they aren't completely them, the fact that they're there just shows how what they have can never be replaced.
It's a part of them. It's for keeps. :)

I mean the elevator scene? The way I saw it, it was basically an unspoken I love you. And I want you to be happy with whoever makes you happy because I love you.
And I just think that just adds another level to the relationship, you know?
Besides... we all know what this will eventually lead to. We just don't know when. :)

I mean, despite everything they still have this connection. They still want to be around each other; knowing very well that if they don't even have that, they're more than likely to fall apart.
It's just... bittersweet.
Thanks for reading! :)
