How Not to Have a Thanksgiving Holiday

Nov 25, 2006 22:15

Hope everyone on LJ had a great Turkey day (in both the MST context and otherwise). Ours has been - shall we say - less than such.

Sucky Holiday Ahoy! )

OMG! What a week for you guys! I'm glad Paula's doing better and I hope she gets to go home sooner than later. Sorry this sucked up your Thanksgiving. {{{Bill & Paula}}}

I'm glad she's better, but how scary!

I had pleurisy myself once upon a time and yeah it's an inflamation of the lining of the lung. They caught mine before it went the way of pneumonia, but what's freaky to me is how some people can still be trucking around and have this stuff going on without even seeming to know it. And it sounds like it came on really fast too. Eeps.

I'm thinking you need a swank holiday season and a brand spankin' new year 'coz you've been through more than your share in the past couple of months.

The doc initially pegged it as "walking pneumonia", which I knew was bunk - it was more like "sprawled out, coughing, crying, staggering pneumonia"!

The Swanky Holdays sounds nifty to me. We could all use it. And NO MORE HOSPITALS!

Hmmm, he wasn't Dr. *JOHN*, was he? (You'll know if he also said she had the "boogie woogie flu"!)

(glad she's doing better)

To heck with Thanksgiving, Bill; I'm just glad that Paula has been getting better, and I hope she's feeling great soon! I'm sorry that they make you leave so early, though. Aren't there exceptions for spouses and other close family members?

There are, but the deal is that Paula's in a semi-private room with an older woman who's in pretty frail health. I think if it was just her in the room, they'd be cool with it.

As it is, tonight it was Paula who threw me out, telling me to go home and relax. So if she's up to bossing me around again, she's better.

I'm declaring today to be "Get Well Soon, Paula" day!

(I hope you get that visiting worked out. If the room were fully private, could you stay? Or is it the other way around?)

Yeah, if it were a Private room, it'd prolly be OK to stick around 24/7.

Thanks for the wishes. I'm going to run out to Hallmark and start a line of "Get Well Soon Paula Day" merchandise.
