On secrets

I've noticed that secrets pop up a lot lately in my life. Deep, personal desires, or past mistake secrets, or momentous events that must stay silent, or even just little things that nobody knows about. I keep other peoples' secrets, I am good at that. I never talk when talk will harm, and sharing private things is almost always a harm ( Read more... )

I'm much the same myself. I do have a few secrets I've kept, some which I can count the number of people who know on one hand, but for the most part, my life is a largely open book, which anyone with a sufficiently large vocabulary and worldview is welcome to read.

Like you, I'm not sure sometimes if that was a good thing or a bad thing.

you are a noble person. perhaps there is a law of conservation or zero sum rule for secrets and instead of throwing your friends and people who trust you under the bus, you sacrificed yourself.

Amen for open-book status. The secrets I keep are those which I am simply not willing to sacrifice friendships for, but otherwise, I don't care.

I don't think that not having secrets has much to do with holding on to any sense of innocence. There are those who still seem to think me innocent or angelic or naive, even after everything. *shrug* Guess I don't know where I was going with that thought. Oh well. :)

I miss you, 'Zilla. Where's that wedding invite??
