Post From A Weekend

badfaggot has the most intoxicating laugh/giggle. It comes from a place deep within him. I was stoked to meet him on Friday, merely from pictures thornyc has put up in the past. Thankfully, he wasn't put off when I randomly said hello ("Are you...M*** from LiveJournal? We don't know each other but we are one degree separated!"), and we had a nice chat. November 29th! The slightly sucky thing about it is I just found out another Bearracuda underwear party is going on that night...and guess who the cover model is again? So I'm slightly torn between Blowoff and Bearracuda that night. But I told Mattacuda I was giving exclusive rights to Blowoff after this past weekend! ;)

Great to see you at Blowoff!

As someone who never goes out, I must say it was off the hook fun! The only bad thing is that it ended too early at 2am.

Yeah, unfortunately, that's something that won't change for future events I don't think. And they had a really good experience with Slim's, so unless it starts to get really really big, I think it will probably stay like that. It just means you have to get there at 10pm sharp and start dancing!

"Pale Shelter" is a remarkably flexible song, something of a hidden gem. There's a local eatery that does a Sunday brunch with a jazz guitarist, and one of the regular guys often hauls out an arrangement of "Pale Shelter" that takes a while to recognize, but when you do, it's "Holy Shit! THAT's what he's playing? AWESOME."

It was so funny when he played it...I heard the rolling hook come on in the middle of the prior song, and I turned to my friend and said, "NO WAY IS HE PLAYING TEARS FOR FEARS!" My friend was like, "What are you talking about?" right as he lead into that familiar hook. Rich told me it will be on his next Pink Noise podcast (you can download them on iTunes).
