One of these days, I resolve to find out why Pat Reusse delights so grandly in tweaking Gopher hockey fans. I think it's fair to read his comment in that column as a shot at the Gophs, which he seems to believe are the Yankees of college hockey and therefore a localized evil empire.
Of course, that brings up the question of whether the Gophers are really the Yankees of college hockey. Given the presence of so many other historically great programs in the conference and in the nation, I don't see how you can assume that Minnesota has an advantage over anybody, never mind calling them the Yankees of college hockey.
I could write all night, and maybe I will some night, but first we must consider this: someone in a John Mayasich jersey used to steal Reusse's lunch money.
