*Weeks later, I deliver promised meta. At this rate, my next fanfic will show up sometime next year.
The Cloud Minders. Het city! Spock actually shows genuine interest in a woman! Kirk holds a woman in his arms! Is this the mirrorverse? Oh, but like the city in the clouds, it seems to be all an illusion. Seriously though, when I watched this a

That's the thing, they have pretty much every sort of slashiness going on, which is why it is so much fun to ship them!

"This episode was written by David Gerrold, who only wrote one other episode in season three called The Cloud Minders...
"I believe Gerrold was the one who flat out stated that he hated even the idea of K/S, but I must be wrong because I know for a fact that he wrote a story in the Star Trek Ultimate Manga in which Kirk, under the influence of a happy pheromone, says 'Spock, have I ever told you how much I love you?' right to the Vulcan himself. Then the pheromone wears off and anybody afflicted doesn't remember a thing." [emphasis mine]
OMG I had to get that manga!

It seems that every time the writers go out of their way to say, "Look, they're totally straight! See? They're flirting with women, and liking it! LOOK!" they end up completely failing due to the unstoppable force that is K/S ^.^ Oh, how I love this show!
Your meta reminds me of this quote, from chapter 42 of Brittany Diamond's K/S analysis over at fanfiction.net:

OMG I just had to get this manga!

And omg, do you have this manga or know where to get it? I'd love to see it, even if it's just those few panels, mostly because I want to see the context and if it's as slashy as I'm imagining or (as the case usually is) if it's even slashier in context.

I agree with everything and also I remember reading that Nimoy said somewhere *I believe that was in one of his books* that Spock's behaviour in Cloud Minders was totally OOC.
As for All Our Yesterdays - it was OOC as well and when Nimoy saw the script he asked to add to the plot reason for Spock behaving in that - that was the reason they added pre-Surak thing.
Otherwise? According to Nimoy Spock+woman=Spock is OOC xD

As for Kirk, it's really fascinating how popular culture makes him out to be some kind of playboy when he's so clearly not. Sure, he loves to flirt and won't say no to a pretty lady, but they act like he screws everything when in reality the women either come from his past and thus are sort of dismissed in a way or he uses flirtation to get information and the like. I think there are only a select few he really had deep feelings for, and he acts differently with those women than he does everyone else. And to go back to the women from the past thing, you can totally make the argument that they're dismissed because Spock is what Kirk wants now and it's like an ex suddenly popping up.

It was awesome and would fit in your picture perfectly.
Also, I so very much second this:
There are no words to describe how much I love that Kirk and Spock can make each other come back to reality, can ground each other, and they do this all the time throughout the series.
YES, YES and HELL YES!!! One of the reasons I love K/S so muc is their compatibility and their intution as to always know what the other needs.
Finally I just like to share a pic, made months ago, speculating about why Kirk might have been so...exhausted:
