Porn, juries, and The Doctor (this sounds like the beginning of an interesting fanfic)

Oh goody, received my first jury summons ever today. Great way to start the new year.

I'm looking forward to the ontd_startrek party post on Saturday. I won't be there for the beginning, but hopefully it'll be amazing and everyone will actually show up.

I have decided that Doctor Who is just 'okay', so I won't be getting into fandom or watching much more of it.

I think almost every American I know has done jury duty at some point. Is it really that common or do I just happen to know people with bad luck, lol?

I love Doctor Who, but I totally understand that it's not everyone's cup of tea. It is a pretty quirky show, and I have plenty of friends who do not get why I like it so much. I feel pretty much the same way about classic!Who as you seem to feel about nu!Who; I have tried to get into it so many times, but I always end up doing housework or reading fic or something...

Personally I really really like your porn. I'm not good at articulating what I like about sex scenes - I mostly just end up commenting that I found it hot or sexy or whatever, but I prefer porny scenes to be detailed and intense and you certainly deliver that in all of your NC-17 K/S fic. ;)

It's very, very common. In fact, it would be very uncommon NOT to have jury duty at some point, let alone at several points.

Yeah, I suppose it's for the best since I can't even keep up with, like, THE ONE FANDOM I'M ACTIVE IN, lol.

Well I now know at least one person enjoys my porn. :) I think I'm more nervous because this fic would be more like a pwp, and really it's not overly hard to write okay sex when you slowly build up to it and it just fits in with the story rather than being the focus. I'll just have to add more plot or something, which is the equililant of, "Spock slowly lowered himself onto Jim's-look over there, Klingons are attacking!"

I probably should have seen it coming, as I'm not big into science fiction in general. I thought that maybe since I love Star Trek, I'd like more sci-fi stuff, but then again I don't even like all of Star Trek, just TOS and reboot.

Jury duty sounds... well, it sounds like the plot key to a very twisted movie, tbh. :3 Mostly because I know if it from movies alone. >.>

And I totally understand not getting into Who. There are plenty shows out there that have a huge fanbase but I just don't see ~it. (I'm one of the few ones who got completely bored by Lost)

And I feel you on the porn. I have so many WIPs that seem to stop at the first mention of sexy thoughts. -.- IDK, I think the majority of writers can't tell if their porn is hot. You can only do your best and hope people will get into it instead of going "eh... no." I've written, like, two porny things and I was so surprised that the comments used words like, "hot" and so on.
But unless it's essential to the plot, you can just FTB it and don't think about it twice. I can't believe I'm saying this, but ~it's not all about the porn~

It's really not that exciting irl. I mean, sometimes you get on something big, like my brother-in-law got to be in a juror in a murder trial, but mostly it's stupid crap like people contesting parking tickets or someone stole something. It's just annoying and no one really likes it.

I was bored by Lost too. We are definitely two fo a kind. :)

WHAT DO YOU MEAN IT'S NOT ALL ABOUT THE PORN?? :P Not but really, I feel the same about porn and when people mention it's hot I'm like, well, bonus! Hell, I'm just happy people aren't commenting with "are you sure they like each other?" or "Spock doesn't have three arms m'dear."
