We all know TMP is slash heaven and that K/S is actually canon but im not opposed to hearing specifically why Roddenberry said so. Also Fraser and Ray is always awesome, I mean they dogsled off into the sunset on an adventure together fer cryin out loud.

I think what I love most about Roddenberry's novelization is the fact that he still doesn't elaborate on why Spock left in the first place. I stumbled across the comment on a TV tropes page about one of the editors not understanding that part of the movie until they heard of the slash explanation, and they said it suddenly made all the sense in the world. THIS.

I just got a sudden itch to remember all the good stuff about spn. Good lord, I watched Croatoan yesterday and man, you should totally go back and watch that because it is staggering how different the show was back then. I mean, Sam hesitating to kill a turned teenager, Dean all gung-ho about killing another teenager while Sam talks him out of it, hell, just seeing the amulet still around Dean's neck gets me all emotional. And GOOD GOD, the scene where Dean stays behind to die with Sam.
