The Almost-Manifesto of Sherlock Holmes and John Watson

Aug 09, 2010 12:47

I've been holding in my love for the BBC's Sherlock, mostly because last week's episode wasn't so bright and shiny as the first, so I wanted to wait and see what the final part of this mini series would be like before I would explode about it. And let me tell you, it delivered. I could go on about plot all day, but there's a million places for that ( Read more... )

slash, meta, the game is on

OMG JUST SAW IT AND I DEFINITELY SEE WHAT YOU MEAN. First and last ten minutes were the BEST.
Also, what did you think of Moriarty?

SEE, I AM ALWAYS RIGHT. Or not, but I am right sometimes. :P

I liked the reveal that he was Jim all along, but man, he was annoying. He was almost a camp villain, so over the top and with an accent no one could ever place. I swear I laughed three times, and not when you're supposed to. I mean, I was never really scared of him, just what he was capable of. A good villain will scare you by just the sound of his voice and the way he looks at you. If John wasn't strapped to that bomb, I wouldn't find him intimidating at all.

I'm busy watching the second episode (after loving the first one). And I'm glad you say the third and final episode delivered because I was getting a little bit worried.

You'll probably hear more of me when I finish watching, hehe. :D

Okay, how awesome art thou? VERY FUCKING MUCH AWESOME.

yesterday's ep; whoa. Still waiting for the fics.

I tried rewatching (didn't have enough time to do more than skim though) and those two were fantastic. Even though at some bits the slash goggles felt redundant.
Or maybe it was just my brain who misinterpreted that line in the beginning when John yells something along the lines of, "there's a head in the fridge, Sherlock! A HEAD! D:" to which Sherlock replies, "no, thanks, I'll just have tea". :3

...you're so good with words, I can't get past the HOMIGOD SO GOOD!!!11one1!! phase. Very well spotted, very well said, bb. <3

The series makes me want to go reclaim my awesomest "Complete Sherlock Holmes" tome I left at my sister's; the one bound in red velvet and with the original illustrations from the Strand THAT I HAVEN'T YET FINISHED READING FOR SOME F'IN REASON. I need to remember how canon Sherlock and Watson were, though I'm sure they weren't much different and I am rambling. >.>

Ohohoh and then there's the part where I wish I had a better memory Sherlock said that not being into something doesn't mean he can't enjoy it?

...or something. >.>

Which in my head counteracts the whole "married to his work" bit.

Hm, you can tell I'm quite enthusiastic about this, cant you? XD

Waiting for fics? Hell, I can't wait for the vids. I know a bunch of people were waiting for all three episodes, and man, there are a lot of beautiful moments and stuff to work with.

Oh pshaw, I'm not that great with words. I've just had a lot of practice writing up shipping meta with Kirk and Spock. I can write them in my sleep, lol.

Oh dude, I would love the complete Sherlock Holmes book. I picked up a book that includes A Study in Scarlet and some other novel whose name I can't recall from the library and it's fun reading it and seeing where some things are the same and some are different in the book.

There's this one part of the books that I love, when Watson gets wounded and Sherlock shows how concerned he is and Watson says it's worth any kind of injury to see the depth of care and love in Sherlock who he thought didn't care for anything and I'm like DAMN DOYLE, YOU WERE SHIPPING THIS TOO WEREN'T YOU.

That Complete Sherlock Holmes tome could kill; it's that massive. It would make for a wonderful murder weapon and it would be quite poetic, too: "murder by Holmes". :D

Anyways, of course Doyle was shipping them! :D
I love how with every new ship, I can yell, "THEY WERE THE ORIGINAL BROMANCE" and be right, too

THIS. EVERYTHING YOU JUST WROTE. ♥ I'm still reeling from how awesome episode three was. I don't know how anyone could watch this show and not end up slashing the hell out of Sherlock and John. :D

I don't know how anyone could either. Hell, it's almost inevitable that when my family watches it, they'll ask, "are they supposed to be gay for each other?" and like everything else I'll just be like, "signs point to probably." Episode three so went above my expectations in the slash department and I love when a show gives me more than I ask for.

Now I need a Sherlock/John icon. ICON SHOPPING TIME!
