Heck YES, and after he introduces his wife/science officer, it immediately cuts to Kirk and Spock, just standing there for a full second. Come on, they don't even say anything, they just look at them and it's crazy that the director/writer/whatever chose to do this, because it makes the wife/science officer thing sink in and it shows the parallel in big flashing rainbow lights. :D

LOL, subtle it is not. Seriously, you can only be allotted so many coincidences before they're not coincidences anymore. And since most of the episodes have at least one of these coincidence, well. That's a shitload of coincidence. It's like saying that it's just a coincidence that you lots of men in a drag at a parade but are unwilling to call it a gay pride parade. There are only so many half naked men in roller skates you can let whiz by before you have to realize that it's there.

It's actually a pretty good episode, even without the slashy bits. Some parts are just silly (sword fighting on the Enterprise, LOL) but it has a good story and I don't know why I've only seen it once.

The first time I saw this one was about a year ago, so I didn't catch any of that, my eyes were not quite open yet. Agh but am I so glad it exists. This is the one with Chekov's fake brother Pyotor and all that, right? Maybe? I get all the early ones I saw so confused. Looks like it's time for a rewatch!

Yes, definitely need to rewatch! And you're right, this is the one with the fake Chekov brother (and I find it infinitely adorable that no one realizes he's fake until Sulu explicitly states that Chekov doesn't have a brother. Those two are so cute and slashy in their own right. XD)

I only WISH I had seen this stuff a year ago, or even years ago. It was right under my nose since forever, but I always dismissed it as a campy show with ugly old dudes having boring missions. FAIL.

A year ago I was slashing, but the kind where you're like, "eh, that wasn't really gay b/c it couldn't be *really* gay," y'know? LOL HOW WRONG WAS I. i don't even know what kept me watching it, I was like, "bah, so much camp," but I love campy stuff, lol. And of course slash. xD

But as goddamned cute as they are I still can't bring myself to full on ship Chekov/Sulu; while I think that it's somewhat justified, it is completely overshadowed. BUT THEY ARE SO CUTE. All I can ever think about is "Turnabout Intruder" during the trial, when they were practically in each other's laps, they were sitting so close, lol.

I don't read Chekov/Sulu or bother much with it, and you know, I actually do believe that TOS Chekov was a bit of a ladies man, lol, even more than Kirk actually (srsly, take the episode "The Apple." Chekov is being a smooth motherfucker with a blonde girl, and Kirk likes to smell flowers. He even says he got carried away smelling the daisies, LMAO.)

I had a girl on my flist since my HP days and she would post TOS vids. I watched a couple and was like, I don't get it, ST is stupid and that's not really slashy. See, that's how good that show hides an epic romance right under your nose. Even slashers have to look twice! 0_o
