Criticism abounds, not for the gleeful

This episode is weird. I don't hate it, yet I don't like it either. I think it's because the win column is short and the wtf column is overshadowing it.

1. They killed Jo, but also killed Ellen. I do like how they treated their deaths, and damn, Ellen made me almost cry. I never liked Jo, but how can you hate a girl who passes up sleeping with ( Read more... )

I hated how they suddenly sprang Dean/Jo on us, too. Dean hasn't thought about her in like three years. Jo is obviously not crushing on Dean anymore. So the whole thing was stupid. I loved the Harvelle deaths, but the Dean/Jo just cheapened the ep. It felt like they tried too hard to make Jo's death SO SAD, when really they didn't have to add romance in the mix to make it sad, it would have been perfect without it. Dean would not suddenly fall in love with her. The forehead kiss was good because obviously Dean would feel IMMENSELY bad about what was happening, but all the other Dean/Jo moments were unnecessary.

I miss when this show made me go, OMGWTFBBQ!!!

I know, right? Sigh. Oh, well.

Sam and Dean. They were, like, secondary characters in this episode and that's not right.

Double I know. LOL. Edlund wrote this eppy? I've noticed he usually gives the secondary characters more of the thunder than Sam and Dean, which is just bizarre in my eyes. Like in that ep where Dean tortured Alastair we had a whole act featuring just Cas which was totally weird.

This is exactly was I was approximately zero percent impressed with the episode. jesus h. christ, the Dean/Jo stuff, what the fucking hell was that? In my headcanon, I tried to twist it so that Dean was more upset about having to (metaphorically) bury more friends, but that stupid ass ending with Dean all ~fixated on Jo in the photograph (couldn't spare a shot for Ellen? Fuck you, SPN) kills it :|

The only parts I actually liked about the ep were Crowley and Castiel. Sidenote: omg, Castiel is losing his angel mojo ;__;

That was the most yawn-worthy ending ever
IKR?

It was taken so we could see it dramatically burn at the end, and that's just not reality, people.
Yes, the photo contrivance really irked me, more so than the Dean/Jo stuff.
