Right, rewatching Amok Time because the new episode meta I've been following just came out, so now I get to delve into it again and man, how is it that it's even gayer than before? I'm not even joking, when I got to "she said it was so that Spock would stop himself from jumping Kirk" I had to stop reading, go get a drink, and sit down and make myself comfortable (grinning like an idiot the whole time) before I could continue..

You have just described what I mostly do when reading awesome meta. It's the "oh hell yeah, this shit just got real" maneuver. Sometimes, you gotta get yourself situated for some AWESOME SHIT. \o

I KNOW. It was the first episode I watched. I think the first thing I tried to watch was 'where no man has gone before', but shortly after the chess scene I got bored and decided that if I was ever going to get into TOS, then I needed to watch the slashiest episode it had. Hell, I barely got it the first time and I thought it was pretty gay. Now? It's like the holy grail of slash, and it's so subtle but also so IN YOUR FACE, and I love it.

I haven't invented anything remotely as cool as pon farr. Though I did come up with a rather cool texturizing technique for cutting hair. :ponders:
