Charleston Summary Pt 1

Okay, I might as well get to it and put down a summary of my trip.

The trip was okay, but it kinda sucked as well.

Day Zero, after we arrive:
My mother set the alarm for 7:30am, even though we weren't leaving until 11am the next day. She said she needed the time to take a shower, do her makeup and her hair, and get ready. But she wasn't ready for bed until around 1am, so I sat around on the bed and watched Adult Swim and some random Bleach episode (in the 100s) while I waited for her. I found the pillows to be too fluffy and my head sank right through them, which made it hard to sleep.

This would be the beginning of my suffering with lack of sleep the entire vacation.

Day 1:
Me, my mother, my mother's uncle, and his son ate at some kind of traditional Southern buffet (I'll give the South credit for awesome food!), and then went to my great-grandmother's nursing home.... for 4 hours. Now, I wanted to see her, but not that much! It would have been nice if we were talking more but we sat around and watched tv most of the time and talked little.

I had wanted to go to just one museum, and that was a ship museum with an actual WW2 aircraft carrier, a WW2 submarine, and two WW2 destroyers you can tour. My mother wanted to go to the Charleston Aquarium. And if we had time, which we should have had, we could do a tour of Charleston on horse carriage, or go to Fort Sumter in the bay.

But due to our wasting time the first day, we didn't have enough time to do any of this, as it was 5pm by the time we left, and for some retarded-ass reason, EVERYTHING touristy ends at 5pm. (if I have to fucking work nights at my minimum wage hellhole, then museums should stay open until at least 9pm!!!!)

We went to my great uncle's old yacht where he lives with his son, and sat around for an hour, and then went to eat at a Bubba-Gump Shrimp Co. restaurant in the farmers market district of Charleston (yes, the restaurant is based off Forest Gump). After that, the day was over, and we went back to the hotel.
