Zoe's Office - February 5

Feb 05, 2007 13:32

Zoe had reached a somewhat Zen state concerning the school board. She'd finally reminded herself that she'd dealt with people a whole lot scarier than the ones on the board, and had gotten through it just fine - well, most of the time, at least.

Her office was clean, her paperwork was in order, and she was as ready as she could possibly be.

Okay...he was totally risking getting tossed out on his ear...or perhaps a Deanish pointed stare of 'keep thy nose to thyself' but doctory instincts finally got the better of him.

What with possessed students, shadows...board members, especially the board members and since he was on campus anyway, Wilson screwed up his courage and wandered up the hall to Zoe's office. Once there, he gave the doorframe a light little rap.

For all her growing nerves, Zoe still looked relieved to see Wilson doing the knocking. "Hi there," she said, smiling.

"Hello." He said with soft spoken cheerfulness.

"I saw your door open and figured I'd take the oppertunity to wander up and...say hello and check in." He admitted the last two words with a hint of a sheepish smile for the lack of subtle as he stepped on into the office.

"Check in?" Zoe asked, looking amused as she had some idea of what he might mean.

Sometime after Dr. Wilson left, Mitch walked in, buoy slung over his shoulder and hair blowing in the wind.

Zoe could have sworn a summer breeze went through put on her best smile. "Hello. Are you here from the school board?"

"I am," Mitch said, smiling. "Mitch Buchannon. I'm also a lifeguard."

Ooh, that was pretty impressive. "Zoe Washburn," she said. "It's nice to meet you. Did you manage to get settled in all right?"

Scrooge knocked on the principal's door frame with his cane and cleared his throat. He might have been a miserly old codger, but he still had enough manners to know you didn't enter a lady's office without permission.

"Good afternoon," Zoe said in greeting, and she wasn't going to stare at his bill, she really wasn't. "Welcome to Fandom High."

"Thankee lass," he nodded and waddled into her office. "Allow me to introduce myself, Scrooge McDuck of McDuck Enterprises, we finace a good majority of the school's need, at a great tax break to myself." He laughed at his own joke.

Zoe figured it would be polite to laugh as well. "Ah, well, it's a great pleasure to meet you, Mr. McDuck. I can assure you, your money is both appreciated and well spent here."

Alanna knocked on the door, and tried to look presentable.

Zoe was surprised to see Alanna at the door, but was no less pleased. "Hi. Can I help you?"

"Um. Well, I was wondering if there was anything I could to help with the School Board visit? Seeing as how I'm the Student Council President?"

"Oh! That's a good question. Uh, I can't think of anything specific," Zoe admitted. "You could have some board members drop by the Student Council, so if there's anyone who might cause trouble, you might want to ensure that they're on their best behavior if a board member shows up."

Zoe wasn't the sort of person to mention Jamie Madrox by name, but she trusted Alanna to be smart enough to know who she meant.

"Other than that, just be polite if you meet any of them. That's all I can really recommend."
