Zoe's Office - February 5

Feb 05, 2007 13:32

Zoe had reached a somewhat Zen state concerning the school board. She'd finally reminded herself that she'd dealt with people a whole lot scarier than the ones on the board, and had gotten through it just fine - well, most of the time, at least.

Her office was clean, her paperwork was in order, and she was as ready as she could possibly be.

Okay...he was totally risking getting tossed out on his ear...or perhaps a Deanish pointed stare of 'keep thy nose to thyself' but doctory instincts finally got the better of him.

What with possessed students, shadows...board members, especially the board members and since he was on campus anyway, Wilson screwed up his courage and wandered up the hall to Zoe's office. Once there, he gave the doorframe a light little rap.

For all her growing nerves, Zoe still looked relieved to see Wilson doing the knocking. "Hi there," she said, smiling.

"Hello." He said with soft spoken cheerfulness.

"I saw your door open and figured I'd take the oppertunity to wander up and...say hello and check in." He admitted the last two words with a hint of a sheepish smile for the lack of subtle as he stepped on into the office.

"Check in?" Zoe asked, looking amused as she had some idea of what he might mean.

Busted and with a soft chuckled he ducked his head in acknowledgement.

"I'm a doctor, it's in my nature to be a busybody." He owned up with a quick little grin.

"I suppose you do have a right to that sort of thing," Zoe admitted. "I'm doing well so far, at least by my own guidelines."

Motioning towards the door, in case she wanted to close out squirrels woe to squirrels Wilson smiled.

"Got any questions or concerns?"

Zoe waited for him to close the door before shrugging. "I don't know what I should be asking, to be honest. The morning sickness seems to be subsiding, and I've got my first ultrasound next week, so I suppose I'll have more questions then."

"Bet you're glad to see the end of the morning sickness." Wilson said with a sympathetic smile.

"Well...diet and exercise are good areas to ask about. Medications, what you can take safely for say a headache or upset stomach. It's nice to already know and have those in stock. Are you going to find out the sex of the baby or be surprised?"

"I am so glad to see the end of that," Zoe said with a grin. "I like being able to eat in the morning and keep the food down."

"I've been doing my best to eat healthy, and not have too much caffeine, or sugar. And I haven't been drinking, no matter how tempted I might be this week," she added. "It would be nice to know what I can take for a headache, not that I anticipate that happening or anything." Zoe smirked at that. "We're going to try to find out the sex, if only so we can start picking names and clothes and all of that."

Wilson chuckled. "Do you know that morning sickness is actually a good thing? It's the body purging itself of anything toxic for the baby, at least that's one of the theories anyway. Still doesn't stop it from sucking."

Crossing his arms, Wilson wrinkled his nose thoughtfully.

"Tylenol, for any headaches or pains, you might want to ask your OB about calcium supplements if they haven't already been prescribed but you know what's most important? Keeping Mom happy."

He grinned impishly. "I mean it. Closer studies show, that a glass of wine once, twice a week, a piece of cake, a cup of coffee or tea if these are things that make you emotionally feel better can be good. No, of course you don't want anything to excess but a healthy, happy Mom is better than one who's stressing herself out by trying to meet all the expectations in the books."
