same. super disappointed how the day went. I was also hoping KRey could have moved up....wish he could have transplanted his performance from the team event...
Yeah, Kevin was better for sure, and I was happy for him to have a pretty strong skate, but team event was better. That's the way the cookie crumbles, I suppose. :/
Just such a disappointment since we know how many talented men were on the ice today.
It sure was deflating, although when it was all said and done, I had some sort of weird smile on my face. Perhaps, because it was done and I was no longer nervous for Patrick. Of all our Canadian world champions, I feel like Patrick was the closest to the top step. One less jump mistake and I think the gold would have been his. The pressure is just so much. Perhaps I'm being selfish, but I hope Patrick continues on for a while yet. I think he still has much more to give this sport.
It was kind of a blah competition. Makes me think of Tessa and Scott and wonder if they feel any more pressure to get to the top of the podium.
As Joannie Rochette said, the gold was waiting on a silver platter, and Patrick chose the platter. So incredibly disappointing, and for Patrick most of all of course. I can't imagine him staying in another four years, but we shall see!
It was totally blah. But ice dance was great today!
I went back and watched Jason's performances at Nationals, since I didn't see them before. SO GREAT. And omg, his reaction when they announced his score after the free skate (which was something like 25 points higher than his personal best and put him in the lead by 10 points) was the most priceless thing ever.
That was just sad. I felt really bad for Patrick Chan - but really, he just blew it. You have to be able to take advantage of those opportunities or you don't deserve the gold, I guess. But the gold medal performance was just blah, too.
Jason Brown is my new favorite person, though. :-)
Just finished watching it, and yeah, it was completely disappointing! It stinks when not a single person on the ice does their best. I'm hoping the women's next week will be loads better.

Jason Brown's adorable FACE when he heard he got ninth place, though. What a cutie.
