Men's figure skating free skate
Well.
Wow, this was one of the most disappointing men's free skates in memory. Not one truly brilliant skate in the bunch. :((
There were some skates with nice moments -- Takahashi springs to mind, and Jeremy Abbott's program was my fave of the day. Happy for Denis Ten, who did have a good performance and just ran out of gas a bit. But extremely disappointed in Yuzuru and Patrick. I'm sure no one is more disappointed then they are, especially Patrick. It was his for the taking. Sigh.
Overall just a deflating day at the rink. No one stepped up and seized the moment. I can't remember the last time I saw a major men's event with this many mistakes. No one could capture the magic out there.
