I loved 302, but didn't really care for 301 or 303, so this whole series was a bit of a let down for me. I really liked Mary, but she was definitely forgiven far too quickly, I agree.
Definitely a letdown. Thinking about it more this morning, and I'm so disappointed. They just tried to do too much with not enough time. Give us a good old case! That's one of the reasons 302 worked so well I thought. Aside from hitting the right emotional beats, there was a compelling case/mystery. One that didn't make a whole lot of sense in the end -- I feel like being skewered with your belt would hurt! And why the photographs/stalking of the palace guard? As soon as we saw the photographer at the wedding, I knew he was the killer. But was still fun to watch Sherlock solve.
Considering they had two years, it's a shame this is what they came up with. :/
but I thought, Ah, this is how they're going to get John back to Baker Street where he belongs...I was so ready to have John move back. Sherlock put his chair back and everything! Sigh.
