I don't talk about it often, but DAMN, Mad Men S2 was so good. I love, love, love this show. I really admire how patient the storytelling is, and that we'll get little nuggets of information over time, but not the full story until the writers are good and ready to give it to us. It's SUCH a welcome balm to the shows that are trying to give answers ( Read more... )

Mad Men is so awesome. I love that show. It's like stepping back in time each week and really living among the people. I loved seeing the big events in history told and I look forward to seeing Kennedy's assassination played out as well. The characters are so real. Just a brilliant show and writing behind it.

Did you see Jon Hamm on SNL this week? He was a hoot and the real "Peggy" and "Roger" actors appeared for one of the skits.

It really is a brilliant show. I wish we didn't have to wait so long between seasons, but it's always worth it.

I never watch SNL anymore except for on YouTube, but I did see the "Don Draper's Guide to Picking Up Women" skit, which was fabulous. I'll have to try and find the other skit with Elisabeth and John.

I have only seen a few eps of the current season of Mad Men, but I might have a little crush on Don Draper. ♥

Also, it's snowing here, as it probably is there too, but this is our first one of the season. Supposed to get a foot of it overnight. Ack. Hello, winter.

You should really check out S1! Brilliant.

Ugh, snow. None here, thank goodness.

Hear, hear. I couldn't agree with this post more.

Well, sometimes the answer is "The owls are not what they seem," and that's totally okay with me.

Amen! Besides, when the characterization and writing are so good, I don't need much else, really.

Me, either. If there's good writing, characterization and acting, I'm a happy camper. I thought it was awesome that Don mailed that book at the beginning of the season and we didn't find out until the penultimate episode who he mailed it to. I love that we were still finding out things about Don's past late into S2. The story is plotted out so expertly.

With Lost, I find people get far too hung up on the why questions. They want to know *why* the smoke monster does what it does and how there's a smoke monster in the first place -- but that's irrelevant. The smoke monster just is, and *why* isn't the point. Why did the Log Lady carry a log? Because she did.

Lost lost me when they decided to go all X-files on us. And I'm totally over Heroes at this point too.

But I adore Mad Men. It's so well done.

Though I must say, I find myself fantasizing about a time warp bringing Brian Kinney sweeping into Sterling Cooper... ;)

Heh. Don Draper would eat him alive!

We should be so lucky! ;) Guh, that I'd like to see.

As for what you probably really meant, I don't know about that. Brian can step up when he needs to. And it would be fun to see him with a worthy opponent and/or partner in crime.

Icon love!

Hmm, I guess that does make sense. Has he said whether they're doing a time jump again? This is one of the only shows where I actually like the jumps.
