Cervical fluid impaired

So my husband and I are TTC. Everything I've read says your cervical fluid is a great indicator as to whether or not you are ovulating. Well I must be cervical fluid impaired because I've been checking for awhile and I haven't seen a bit of difference. Am I doing it wrong? Did I possibly miss the one day that it is like "egg white"?

I check after I ( Read more... )

the way i was taught to do it was to rach up with two fingers and sort of touch the cervix with the tips of both fingers then test the stretchiness between the two fingers when you take it out. to be honest, though, i didn't go by cervical fluid. i used an OPK, which was very accurate for me. i used Answer brand. of course, the cycle we got pregnant on was an HCG trigger cycle, so the natural ovulation signs didn't end up mattering.

this is what I do - my CM (cervical mucus) never really shows up at the entrance to my vagina, so this was the only way I could monitor the quality of my CM

My fluid was all over the place, so I tracked by my temp on fertility friend

I used http://www.mycycle.com to help me. it tracks your period and tells you when you should be ovulating.

I think I remember reading somewhere that you're supposed to check before you go to the bathroom, because pee and stuff can wash away the fluid. Try checking before you pee! Good luck! :)

This. Try before you go to the bathroom. Also, OP, are you on any allergy meds? I never had much CM because my allergy meds dried it up quite a bit. I tracked my temps and got pg after 9 months.

your urethra isn't anywhere near your cervix...not possible.

That's if you're checking from the outside rather than sticking your finger(s) all the way up to your cervix. Some people do it differently.

How to record your Cervical Mucus Changes

You need to check your cervical mucus every time you go to the toilet, before urinating (the stream of urine can wash away mucus). You do not check for cervical mucus whilst you are menstruating.

To check your cervical mucus simply run your finger around the inside of the vaginal opening, (closer to the entrance rather than deeper within the vagina).

From here - http://www.mycycle.com/articles/mucus.html

(To the OP: mycycle is great for tracking things and showing you when you're likely to ovulate!)

When I was TTC, I would check every time I was in the bathroom as well. I didn't have to search very deep, I would just touch around the area with a finger tip and there would be the EWCM. Maybe you're missing it? It's actually rather clear and stretchy. Good luck!
