What's the point of having a journal if you don't write in it?

There are so many times I want to write something down, but then I think, no no, can't do that, people might get the wrong idea. ...but really... the wrong idea about what? GOOD GIRL! LJs are meant for ranting sometimes. It's very healthy. It's also healthy for us to get to know the ranting side of you... so it doesn't shock us too terribly if one day you like, spontaneously combust or something. ;) We'll at least have a better idea of what to do

I love the historical sites here. I love the hidden beauty within the chaos. I love the PEOPLE. I do not love the government as well as other things. I feel really lucky to have come here, really. So I hope it didn't come off as I HATE YOU CHINA...though I've been known to say that every once in a while

Hi Linnea! I too am glad that the Chinese government scares you, not because I want you to be afraid, but because I keep wondering if it really is that bad when you're there. It seems like so many people from Augustana want to go to China, and the thought of living there, let alone traveling there for a short time, would scare me to death! I read so much about human rights abuses and injustices, but you can never really know what the atmosphere of a place like that really is unless you visit it
