Yay Foyle's War! I saw some of them on Masterpiece Mystery. (There's a story on the commentary for Girl in the Fireplace about how that's how David Tennant and Sophia Myles sort-of-met: they were on the same episode, but she was focusing on a really emotional scene and didn't notice someone saying hi to her.) I also only read LOTR after seeing the movies (Maybe that's the crime we're partners in? :) ), so no produce from this corner. I probably liked the movies a lot more because of that, judging by my reaction to the Harry Potter movies. The Screwtape Letters are indeed awesome, and I discovered the Space Trilogy a couple of years ago, which was fun. Never got into it the way I did with LOTR, though.
Ohhh, I adore Dylan. I have very specific and hilarious memories of my father breaking out into Dylan impersonations (he's about as tone-deaf, it's awesome), and introducing me to Highway 61 Revisited on the original vinyl when I started becoming curious about some of his songs. "Desolation Row" is my absolute favorite, though I am also partial to "Like a Rolling Stone" and "Just Like Tom Thumb Blues".
